What you can do here
- The tap tempo counter finds the BPM of a song or beat as you tap along.
- The metronome keeps time at any tempo from 20 to 300 BPM, with 2 to 7 beats per bar.
- The BPM to milliseconds calculator turns a tempo into note lengths for delay times and timing.
- The guides explain tempo ideas such as half-time feel and finding a song's BPM.
How the tools work
Everything runs in your browser. The tapper averages the gaps between your last twelve taps and converts the result to beats per minute. The metronome schedules its clicks on the browser's audio clock. The calculator divides 60,000 by the BPM to get milliseconds per beat. Nothing you tap or type is sent to a server.
What it does not do
TempoTapper measures your tapping. It does not analyze audio files, read a song from a link or look tracks up, so it is not a replacement for a BPM finder that does those things. A reading is only as steady as your taps.
Who is behind it
TempoTapper is an independent project. The tools are free to use and there is no account to create.
